Last Day in Florida

I can't believe it. The day has come...my last day in Florida. I've lived in Florida my entire life, and now I'm moving north to a place where the four seasons actually exist. South Florida has one: Summer. I know I'm going to panic the first time the temperature drops below 70. For someone born and raised in Florida, that's COLD! The thermometer now reads 84 and its only 11am.

I'm pretty much all packed. Most of my belongings are currently in boxes en route to my dorm room. The UPS guy said that they might take awhile to get there because Hurricane Ernesto grounded their planes. The rest of my clothing and personal items are in suitcases that I'll take with me on the plane tomorrow. My parents are flying up with me and will help me move in. I suspect they didn't want to pass up a chance to visit Boston. Its such a great city. Tomorrow we have to leave the house at 6 to catch our 8am flight.

I have no idea what to expect. I've had a million different scenarios running through my head: Will I make friends? Will my dorm be old and cramped? Will I fit in with all the other Harvard intellectuals? Will the classes be impossibly hard or is the hardest part getting accepted? Will a Florida girl like me freeze to death in the winter? I guess we'll see...

Hi Katie,
I'm so glad you liked the package. I couldn't send just shower shoes so I thought that munchies were needed.
I did think of Chewy when I painted your Harvard Kitty. It just isn't the same as the real thing.
I'm so glad you are making so many new friends. I knew you would. Who wouldn't like you? Weirdos I guess, but thats no great loss.
We are all so proud of you!!! Enjoy kid.
Love,
Cathy
